Did you Know Safety Equipment Saves you Money?

Did you know that purchasing safety equipment can SAVE you money? According to ISEA, The International Safety Equipment Association, the cost per disabling injury in the United States in 1998 was $28,000, including lost wages, medical expenses, administrative expenses, and employer costs. That means that America's road construction industry lost more than half a billion dollars in 1998, and that doesn't include fatal injuries. There is no price too high to save a life, especially on the job front. However, most employers don't realize how cheap personal protective supplies, PPE, can be purchased online.
It is also vital to take your ENTIRE protection seriously. For instance, we've seen many construction workers wearing hard hats, gloves and safety glasses, but not wearing hearing protection in very noisy environments. Or, workers operating concrete saws and jackhammers without eye and respiratory protection, knowing dust and pavement is flying about. Remember, it is key to take your WHOLE body protection into mind and wear the proper safety equipment.
Moreover, while a great deal of attention has been placed on strict enforcement of speed limits in road construction zones, it is also vital that construction crews be wearing the proper high viz apparel and safety vests.
Safety should be full circle, starting and ending with the right safety equipment.
